Below are the Nine Countries who will be facing a direct ban on arrival:

• India
• Pakistan
• Egypt
• Indonesia
• Turkey
• Argentina
• Brazil
• South Africa & Lebanon

All expatriates must not pass through any of the banned countries listed above in the past 14 days before their enter into Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, in the month of February travelers from 20 countries were banned to Enter Saudi Arabia directly

Apart from the above 9 countries, the other countries were United Arab Emirates (UAE), United States (USA), United Kingdom (UK) Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Japan

GACA has issued a circular to all the air carriers in Saudi Arabia to suspend the travel of travelers coming from these countries.

This decision was taken into consideration because of new variants coming up and the kingomd have seen an increase in COVID cases.

UAE, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Afghanistan flights will be suspended starting Sunday (tomorrow). Expat or National who will be coming from these countries will be subjected to institutional quarantine.

Flights from 4 countries will be Suspended from 4th July

Citizens of Saudi Arabia will be banned from travelling to & for from these countries directly. Any Saudi who is in these country will have an exception till tomorrow (Sunday) 11 PM to return to their home.

This step has been taken to avoid spread of new variants in the kingdom (Saudi)

Suspension of flights will come into effect starting 11 PM on Sunday (4th July 2021)

Starting from May 30 2021, travelers who were coming from 11 countries, including the UAE, Germany, US, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Britain, Sweden, Switzerland, France and Japan, were allowed to enter Saudi Arabia.

International Flights & borders will be shut for One more week

Starting 20th of December 2020 International Flights, land borders and Sea borders were closed across Saudi Arabia to avoid the spread of new strain of Coronavirus and to ensure safety of residents & expatriates.

International Travel except for emergency cases after taking precautionary measures are allowed. GACA clarified that these instructions do not include the countries where the new mutated strain of coronavirus has appeared and that is in accordance with the decision of the competent health authorities.

International Flights from Saudi to Other countries are open and pats can leave Saudi Arabia to go to their Home country.

As per the Ministry of Health; Saudi Arabia will continue to assess the situation, ensuring safety of citizens and expatriates, with an emphasis on excluding the movement of goods, commodities and supply chains, as well as allowing the departure of non-Saudis through flights, according to the precautionary measures adopted.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GACA) has posted on Twitter about the information too that the dates are not yet decided to when International flights will resume in Saudi Arabia and have asked everyone to keep following their social media or official website to get updated information about International flights in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

No Specific Date to resume International Flights in Saudi

All the International Flights in Saudi were suspended in the mid of March 2020 due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic and since then the situation has been worsening due to increase of cases and that is the reason of not resuming flights to & fro from other countries.

The restrictions in the kingdom  of Saudi Arabia have been eased in phases and a bit from a strict lockdown and travel restrictions between cities have been removed.

Domestic flights were resumed in the month of June to travel between one location to other inside Saudi Arabia.

All International Flights to be Suspended for Two Weeks

This decision was taken by MOI in prevention of spread of pandemic COVID-19.

As per today the no of confirmed cases in the kingdom has reached 86 after the government confirmed 24 new cases.

Very Few weeks will be operating in exceptional cases during this period of suspension.

Earlier, Schools & Universities were also closed in Saudi Arabia

International Flights will stop starting 11 AM, Sunday.

For residents who cannot come back during this period, it will be considered as an official holiday.

Necessary arrangements will be made regarding health procedures such as examination and isolation according to the preventive measures approved for all arrivals.
